ASPEK BIOLOGI KEPITING ENDEMIK DI DANAU MATANO

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui beberapa aspek biologi kepiting air tawar endemik di Danau Matano. Survei lapangan dilakukan pada bulan Mei, Oktober dan November 2015 di Danau Matano, Sulawesi Selatan. Contoh kepiting diperoleh dengan jaring insang, jala dan seser. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Danau Matano memiliki tiga jenis kepiting air tawar endemik yaitu Parathelphusa pantherina, Syntripsa matannensis dan Nautilothelphusa zimmeri (famili Gecarcinucidae) yang didominasi oleh P. pantherina (68,45%) dengan nisbah kelamin seimbang. Sebaran kepiting endemik lebih banyak ditemukan di bagian selatan Danau Matano. Rerata ukuran lebar karapas kepiting endemik sekitar 4 cm dengan ukuran tubuh kepiting jantan relatif lebih besar dibandingkan jenis betinanya. Pola pertumbuhan bersifat hipoalometrik dengan faktor kondisi yang menunjukkan kondisi baik.
